Write a Story in an Hour

Key Points
You need an idea or a character.
Idea:
The idea must be central to the story, but the story is not about the idea.
Find a unique idea.
Snowball the idea.
Character:
You have to do bad things to your characters.
Character is how people react to bad things.
Find their breaking point.
The have to grow.
Wonder and Worry – You must worry about the character and wonder how they are going to get out of trouble.
Advice:
Keep things happening.
The Story is the Thing.
Dialogue must enhance the story.
Ask and expert – Don’t spend two years researching a ten page story.
